Katrina Crist, MBA

Katrina Crist is the Executive Director of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and its affiliate, the ASTS Foundation. Ms. Crist graduated from Purdue University in 1987 with a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations. In 2002, she received a Master of Business Administration Degree from Boston University. Ms. Crist was Director of Conferences and Auxiliary Service at St. Mary’s College of Maryland from 1993-1997. She served as the Executive Director of the JDRF Center for Islet Transplantation at Harvard Medical School from 1999-2004. She served as the Executive Director for the American Society of Transplant Surgeons from 1997-1999 and rejoined the ASTS in 2004.

Ms. Crist has over 10 years of executive experience in the field of organ and cell transplantation. She has managed large multidisciplinary research programs and has demonstrated business management, strategic planning and team-building abilities. She is experienced in creating new infrastructure and expanding existing infrastructure. She is experienced in analyzing operations and implementing systems and processes to maximize efficiencies.

Ms. Crist will provide managerial leadership in the overall administration of the project and will provide day-to-day operations of the program. Ms. Crist will provide direct supervision to the staff of the National Living Donor Assistance Center and will prepare financial reports and ensure quality controls.
